What is a fill? You'll have to come in for a fill on average every 3 weeks depending on your retention and preference on how full your lashes are. After 5 weeks with no fill, it will be a full set. It would also be considered a full set if you and I can count less than 20 lash extensions on one eye. You should come to your lash fill appointment free of any eye makeup. During a fill appointment I will clean your eye area and prepare with gel pads over your bottom lashes. If you have any lash extensions that are twisting or grown out, I'll take my tweezers and crush the adhesive up before I slip the extension off of your natural lashes. Lastly, I'll carefully go through your lash line and place lash extensions on any bare natural lashes!
-
What are eyelash extensions?Eyelash extensions are a beauty treatment where synthetic fibers are carefully glued to your natural eyelashes to make them look longer and fuller. It's like adding instant length and volume without having to apply mascara or use false lashes. The process involves lying down with your eyes closed while a technician carefully attaches each extension to your lashes using a special adhesive. It's a bit like getting your nails done, but for your eyelashes! The result is a more dramatic and fluttery look that can last for several weeks. It's a great option if you want to enhance your natural lashes for special occasions or just for everyday ease!
-
How do I care for them?Caring for lash extensions is essential to maintain their appearance and prolong their longevity. All full sets come with an aftercare kit to set you up for success! Here's how to care for lash extensions: Be gentle when cleansing your face and avoid rubbing or pulling on your lashes. Here's a video on how to properly clean your lash extensions daily. Using eye makeup designed specifically for eyelash extensions is ideal to prevent breaking down the adhesive. Definitely do not use an eyelash curler, it can bend or break the eyelash extensions, even your natural lashes. Please, resist the temptation to pull or pick at your lash extensions as this can cause damage to your natural lashes. I always recommend, especially in the allergy season, to have a clean spoolie wherever you might need it if your eyes are itchy. Use a clean spoolie brush to gently comb through your lashes each morning and evening to keep them looking neat and separated. Avoid sleeping on your face to prevent crushing your lashes while you sleep. If you are a side or stomach sleeper, I recommend getting a Sleep Mask so you don't have excessive loss. Cleaning your lashes after crying is always a great practice if possible. Schedule regular touch-up appointments every 2-4 weeks to maintain the fullness and appearance of your lash extensions. By following these tips, you can keep your lash extensions looking beautiful and ensure they last as long as possible.

I have sensitive skin, are lash extensions right for me?If you have sensitivities, there are a few factors that you should consider before getting lash extensions: Allergic reactions: Some people may be allergic to the cyanoacrylate adhesive used to attach the lash extensions. Before getting lash extensions, you may want to do a patch test to see if you have any adverse reactions to the adhesive. Irritation: Even if you're not allergic to the adhesive, the process of applying lash extensions involves having your eyes closed for an extended period of time, which can be uncomfortable if you have dry eye or for some contact wearers. Maintenance: Keeping your lash extensions clean is important for preventing irritation and infection. If you have sensitive skin, you may need to be extra diligent about cleaning your lashes regularly to avoid buildup of oils and debris. Ultimately, whether lash extensions are right for you depends on your individual sensitivity and tolerance levels. It's always a good idea to book a patch test and do a consultation with someone who can assess your skin type and discuss any concerns you may have before proceeding with the treatment. Additionally, if you have a history of skin allergies or sensitivities, it's a good idea to consult with a dermatologist before getting lash extensions.

Do eyelash extensions damage natural lashes?I’m sure you have heard it before, friends or colleagues heading warning against getting eyelash extensions because all of their natural lashes fell out after. Eyelash extensions can ABSOLUTELY damage your natural lashes and I have seen it plenty of times myself. I will even confess and say that I have caused damage to peoples’ lashes unknowingly in the start of my career. The lash industry is still in its infant stage, there weren’t a lot of professionals with much data to work off of. There have been many things that lash artists had to troubleshoot on their own and kind of had to wait and see. Lash extensions shouldn't, however, damage your natural lashes. As long as they are applied in a safe manner and your aftercare is great, your natural lashes will stay healthy.

I’m currently pregnant/breastfeeding, can I get eyelash extensions? If you're pregnant, it's completely understandable to be cautious about any beauty treatments you undergo. While lash extensions are generally considered safe for pregnant women, there are a few things to consider: Sensitivity: Pregnancy can make your skin more sensitive, so there's a possibility that your skin may have a reaction to the adhesive used for the lash extensions even if you haven't had irritation before. Positioning: Lying down for an extended period of time during the application process may become uncomfortable as your pregnancy progresses, especially if you're in the later stages of pregnancy. We can use pillows or bolsters to help and you can always sit up at times if necessary, but it is something to consider. Hormonal changes: Pregnancy hormones can affect the condition of your natural lashes, potentially causing them to become more brittle or prone to shedding. This may affect the overall look and longevity of your lash extensions even after your pregnancy in the postnatal period. Before getting lash extensions while pregnant, it's a good idea to consult with your healthcare provider to discuss any potential risks or concerns. Additionally, make sure to inform your lash technician that you're pregnant so they can take any necessary precautions and make you as comfortable as possible during the treatment. Ultimately, the decision to get lash extensions during pregnancy is a personal one, and it's hugely important to prioritize your own health and comfort!

How long do lash extensions last? This is the most common question that I hear but just remember, lash extensions are a service that require maintenance. If you’re looking for lash extensions as a one time service for a special occasion then the expectation should be that you’ll still have SOME lashes hanging on anywhere between 6 -12 weeks. It’s essential to remember that the natural lash cycle is about 100 days. As they shed, the extensions will fall as well. It is highly recommended that all clients schedule fills every two to three weeks to keep the lashes looking full and picture-perfect.

Can I wear makeup/mascara?Hopefully you won't feel like you need to but yes, you can wear makeup with lash extensions, but there are some guidelines to follow to keep your lashes looking their best: Avoid oil-based makeup products: Oil-based makeup removers, eyeliners, and mascaras can break down the adhesive bond of the lash extensions, causing them to fall out prematurely. Opt for water-based or oil-free makeup products instead like The Good Ex for mascara or Side Chick for eyeliner. Be mindful when applying eye makeup: When applying eye makeup, be careful not to tug or pull on your lash extensions. Use a light hand with eyeliner and avoid applying mascara directly to the extension base. Avoid waterproof makeup: Waterproof makeup can be VERY difficult to remove and may require rubbing, which can damage your lash extensions or even natural lashes. The Good Ex is a great mascara for lash extension wearers when you need a little something extra. Use a gentle makeup remover: I always recommend using the Gentle Foaming Cleanser as your initial cleans when removing all makeup at the end of the day. Follow with your normal skin cleansing routine. If you have eye makeup on, 3 good cleanses with a pump of the foam might be necessary to remove all traces on your eyes to finish. Cleanse your lashes regularly: It's important to keep your lash extensions clean to prevent buildup of makeup, oils, and debris. Use the Gentle Foaming Cleanser to cleanse your lashes twice daily, and gently brush them with a clean spoolie brush to keep them looking fluffed and separated. By following these guidelines, you can enjoy wearing makeup while maintaining the health and longevity of your lash extensions.

Do I have to do anything to prepare for the appointment? If you regularly wear glasses, make sure you have them with you so we can be sure that your lash extension length doesn't reach the lens. If you wear contacts and you don't sleep with them in, it might be more comfortable to take them out before we get started but that's at your discretion. You should avoid having caffeine or stimulants before the appointment since it can make your eyes flutter which can be difficult to apply lashes. I won't be able to check your phone for you so it's important that you turn it to silent. It's also nice to just be prepared to relax! I suggest getting some Lash Nap vitamin spray before the appointment to help assist.
-
Can I get my lash extensions wet?You can absolutely get your lashes wet when wearing lash extensions - as a matter of fact, please do! The more you clean them the longer they will last and your eye health and lash health will thank you for it. If you’re swimming or getting out of the shower though, you will want to be careful to not rub your eyes on a towel because the loops can easily snag on the base of your lash extensions and can cause them to get pulled out. Instead, you’ll want to dab or use a different material all together. See the lash cleaning video for best practices.
-
What can I expect at a full set appointment? This is a non-invasive treatment. Getting eyelash extensions applied is so comfortable, many guests find it to be the perfect time to take a power nap. You may want to use the bathroom before we start the appointment as full sets take 2-3.5 hours. Once you're in the treatment room, I want you to get nice and cozy! We'll go over the process, what results you'd like to see, plus any questions you may have before we begin. When we've gotten all that out of the way, you'll lie down, I'll clean your eye area, and put gel pads over your bottom lashes to protect them. After you're all prepped and your eyes are nice and relaxed, you can take a sweet little nap while I work my magic!
-
How long will the appointment take?Time can vary depending on the chosen style of lash extensions. When you book an appointment, you can see the duration in your confirmation email so you can be sure to set aside the correct amount of time. We recommend budgeting 2 to 3.5 hours for your full set appointment! Appointments for fills are less time but vary depending on the number of weeks in between fills and the type of fill being performed.

Could I be allergic to the products used during this service? There is always a chance that you could be allergic to something used during the service or develop a sensitivity to a product used. In the 12 years I have been performing lash lift and tint services though, I have only had 2 people a bit sensitive to the water soluble adhesive sometimes used to keep the silicone piece on the eyelid. There are other options that do not require that adhesive though.
-
Is this permanent?A lash lift and tint is as permanent as your lashes are. As your natural lashes shed, the new lashes that grow in won’t be lifted. That’s why the lash lift service needs to be repeated on average every 6-8 weeks for best results.
-
Will a lash lift and tint damage my eyelashes? There should be no damage to your eyelashes if you’re getting serviced by a trained professional and they are using the product properly. Not all lash lift systems are made the same though, and some lash lift systems are way more harsh than others with varying ingredients.
-
What should I expect during the service? At the beginning of a lash lift service, I will clean your lashes and place a gel pad on your bottom lashes to prevent them from being curled up with your top lashes. Your natural lashes will be measured to ensure the correct size silicone piece will be used for the best end result. After this, your eyes will be closed and there will be a little bit of pressure on your eyelid area but it's very relaxing and people often fall asleep. The positioning of your lashes on the silicone piece is crucial in determining the lift you're going to get. The lifting and fixing solution are then used to manipulate the curl of your lashes. After all of that processes, usually a black tint is applied to both your top and your bottom lashes from maximum definition!
-
What if I don’t get the results I’m expecting? If you get home and end up feeling underwhelmed by your lash lift and tint results, please reach out to me! I have no problem giving you a complimentary lash lift within a week of your service. There is no harm done whatsoever if we have to do another treatment since the lash lift system I use is not going to damage your lashes.
-
I’m currently pregnant/breastfeeding, can I have a lash lift and tint?Of course when pregnant/breastfeeding, it's always best to err on the side of caution. Lash Lift: The chemicals used in lash lifts are typically safe when applied properly, but they can be somewhat strong smelling. Some people prefer to avoid them during pregnancy due to potential sensitivity or allergic reactions. If you choose to go ahead, make sure to consult with a professional who uses high-quality, reputable products and ensure the salon is well-ventilated. Lash Tint: Lash tinting involves dyeing the lashes with a vegetable based dye and a hydrogen peroxide developer, which some prefer to avoid during pregnancy due to concerns about the absorption of chemicals through the skin. Just know that none of the solutions are actually coming in contact with the skin during a lash lift and tint service. If you’re unsure, consult with your healthcare provider to get personalized advice. They can give you the best guidance based on your specific situation.
-
How do I care for a lash lift and tint?Caring for a lash lift and tint is really simple! Here are some things to remember: Keep your eye area dry for the first 24 hours, even the steam from a shower. You will want to be gentle with your lashes for the first 24 hours since they are still malleable so avoid rubbing your eyes. If you forget about it and do rub your eyes, just make sure to brush your lashes back into place with the provided spoolie. After the first 24 hours, the only things you have to avoid are waterproof mascara and lash curlers - but just go ahead and throw those both out!
-
Can I get my lashes wet after a lift + tint?Try to avoid moisture around your eyes for the first 24 hours. If you forget and get them wet, it's not the end of the world. Just brush them into place but let me know if you feel the lift was affected.
-
Do I need a tint?In some cases, you won’t need a tint. If you’re planning on wearing mascara daily and your natural lashes are pretty dark, you can skip it and just book a lash lift. In some cases though, the additional tint to your natural lashes could be what you need to allow you to skip the mascara all together!
-
What is a lash lift and tint?A lash lift and tint is like a boost for your natural lashes. First, we carefully lift and separate each lash, giving them a subtle curl that lasts for weeks. Then, we add a tint to darken and define them, so they stand out even more. Unlike lash extensions, a lash lift and tint works with your natural lashes. We use a gentle lifting solution that allows the hairs to restructure, followed by a fixing solution to give them a new memory. This process results in lifted lashes that look naturally fuller. And here's the best part: it's low-maintenance and lasts for up to 8 weeks! No need for daily mascara or the more frequent maintenance of lash extensions.

What is a brow lift and could I be a good candidate?Brow lamination is a beauty treatment designed to shape and set your eyebrows into a desired position, giving them a fuller and more polished look. Here's how it works: Process: The treatment involves applying a solution to your brows that relaxes the hair, allowing them to be brushed into a new shape. A setting solution is then used to keep the hairs in place. Benefits: It can help with unruly brows, fill in gaps, and create a more uniform appearance. It's especially good if you want a natural, brushed-up look or if your brows tend to be sparse. Duration: The effects typically last for 6-8 weeks. As for whether you're a good candidate, consider the following: Health and Sensitivity: If you have any skin conditions, allergies, or sensitivities, consult with a professional to ensure the products used won't irritate your skin or react adversely with your body. Pregnancy/Breastfeeding: Similar to lash lifts and tints, while there’s no definitive evidence that brow lamination poses risks during pregnancy or breastfeeding, some prefer to avoid such treatments due to the chemicals involved. It’s a good idea to discuss it with your healthcare provider to be safe. Brow Condition: If your brows are very coarse or brittle, lamination might not be suitable. A consultation with a brow specialist can help determine if your brow hair is in good condition for the treatment. If you’re interested, talk to a professional who can assess your brows and guide you on whether brow lamination is right for you.

How do I care for a brow lift? You'll want to stay away from water, heat, and steam for 24 hours. We strongly recommend using AirLift Professional Brow Nourishing Oil twice daily to keep your brow hairs healthy and strong in between treatments. You can continue to use any brow gel or pencil on your brows for styling 24 hours after the service. Do not get a spray tan service or use self tanner 48 hours before and after. You will definitely want to avoid any AHA, Retinol or exfoliating products at least 3 days prior and post brow lift service to reduce any skin irritation.
-
I have sensitive skin, is a brow lift right for me?If you have sensitive skin, it’s important to be cautious with treatments like a brow lift. The process involves the use of chemicals that can potentially irritate sensitive skin. Here are some things to consider: Consultation: Allowing time to assess your skin and eyebrows before booking a brow lift appointment is really helpful. We may be able to make adjustments to the treatment process based on your sensitivity. Patch Test: Before proceeding with the full treatment, we can do a patch test at your consultation. This will help determine if you have any adverse reactions to the products used. Aftercare: If you do go ahead with a brow lift, follow all aftercare instructions carefully to minimize irritation. This often includes avoiding exfoliating products like AHA, Retinol or physical exfoliants 48-72 hours before the treatment. You'll also want to avoid excessive moisture, heat, or makeup in the brow area for 48 hours after the treatment. Alternative Treatments: If brow lamination seems too risky, consider gentler options like eyebrow tinting, or shaping. Your skin’s well-being is the top priority, so consulting with a professional and getting personalized advice is key.
-
How long will the tint last? The tint generally lasts 4-6 weeks on your hair and 2 days on your skin.
-
How is the brow tint color chosen? The tint color is chosen by factoring in your natural hair color, eye color, skin tone and personal preference. If you don’t use product with any pigment on your brows, my general rule is to start slow. I’ll show you after they’re tinted and we can always add more!
-
What is a brow tint?A traditional brow tint is a temporary vegetable based dye that’s used to enhance, shape and define your brows. Here's a rundown: Process: Your brow area will be cleaned and prepared for the tinting treatment. A brow mapping string will be used to ensure we agree on the ideal shape for your brows based on your facial features and current structure of your eyebrows. The tint is then carefully applied to your brows and left to process for a few minutes to achieve the desired color. The tint will be cleaned off with a tint remover that stops the tint from processing any further. A brow wax/tweeze can be added to the treatment to give you the best results. Benefits: Brow tinting can define your brows giving you more depth and color especially in your arch and tail area where you may have fine, lighter hairs. The right brow tint can better compliment your natural hair color or current dye. Getting a brow tint can save you time on your current makeup routine by establishing the best shape for you so you don't have to guess when you're filling them in. Duration: A brow tint is a quick treatment that gives you lasting results. Typically, the results last 4-6 weeks. Over time, the tint gradually fades as your brow hairs grow and shed.
-
Will the tint stain my skin?Usually the tint will stain your skin for 2 days or so. Some more oily skin types don’t absorb the stain quite as much but it also depends on how long the tint is left on.
-
What if I don’t get the results I’m expecting? If you leave feeling like your brow tint is too dark, first, give it a day or two. More often than not, it’s the stain on the skin that’s shocking to people if they aren’t used to seeing their brows filled in. If the brow tint doesn’t grow on you and you’re not feeling like you have the best brows in the world, please let me know and we can absolutely adjust your color in the future!
-
How is brow henna different from a brow tint?Brow henna is for someone who is used to filling in their brows with a pigmented product. If you have gotten a tint before and you enjoy the stain on your skin, I would suggest you try brow henna. The stain lasts longer on your skin and hair with brow henna. It's also a natural stain with no ammonia or peroxide used during the service. The henna actually coats the hair and helps strengthen + grow your brow hairs longer!
